The insect was at the foot of this support and was delicately placed on this twig. The tricky part is finding the tiny “Imp” (juvenile Empusa).
The difficulty was to find the right angle against the light. As the subject was not inherently mobile, I had plenty of time to compose and frame my photo. The blue color is obtained by adjusting the white balance. The blue has been enhanced in post-processing. The flares are the result of a double exposure on the camera at the time of shooting.
