This pic was taken in Botswana in the Okavango Delta just before sunset. This is the famous Leopard Rock, which is a paradise for the leopards. These rocks are the best place for them to live avoiding other predators, hiding, and relaxing with their cubs often.
I am a guide leader, but at that time, I was exploring the area with my guide, while my clients were in the camp resting. For me, wildlife photography is not a typical trip but an exploration to see something different.
We saw this leopard by chance, though we suspected it could be there. It is difficult to see the leopards because they camouflage well in the rocky place. After a long time of searching, I located this elusive cat with a powerful gaze and fantastic camouflage. I used the long lens to photograph the leopard inside the rock, composed perfectly in the glory of the savage kingdom of Africa.
The post-processing was basic: crop, sharpness, contrast, channels of colors, and the control of the light that makes the leopard more intense and its gaze contrasting with the black background.
