As usual, I first looked for a frame and for light. The odonata at the edge of this small pond were numerous. I just had to choose my angle of view to integrate the subject as well as possible in this frame.
The main difficulty was timing, because only at a specific time of the day the sparkle on the water in the background was visible. The behaviour of this insect is very predictable. A good observation and understanding of the habits of this insect allowed me to trigger at the right time.
The white balance and the exposure were managed during the shooting. A slight S-curve to enhance the contrast between the dark subject and the background has been applied.
