During our safari in the Masai Mara, we came across a pride of lions searching for a hunt. This particular bold lioness was coming directly towards the car, and I just had to frame her with a 600mm telephoto lens and compose with a little foreground.
I decided to compose the image keeping her walking track in the foreground so it would look as if the lioness was taking a catwalk. I wish the lioness had more room in the image, but I worked with a prime 600mm, so it was impossible to get more breathing space in the composition.
I wanted a high-key rendition of the image, so I blew up the highlights and contrast sliders in Lightroom. To make her eyes and nose features stand out in the shadows, I darkened the shadows and blacks in the Lightroom sliders. I made a small curve adjustments in Photoshop, and that was it for editing.
