The dragonfly was resting on a branch above the water. The main difficulty here was managing the depth of field and achieving the clear, smooth luminosity of the water in the background. In the post-processing, the image has been converted to black & white, reinforcing whites and blacks with contrast via levels and curves. Sharpening the wings reinforced the lace effect. [+]
