Seeing an exhibition in 1979 at the Met. in New York by the photographer Eliot Porter inspired me on my path to photography. Many week-long workshops over the years with the eminent Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson have sensitized me to the nuances of visual design and instilled the joy of seeing.
