I can't even imagine the amount of work this serie must have taken. I'm wondering which came first: seeing the place and deciding what kind of picture should be put there, then going to take the animal picture, printing, etc. or the other way around: from the animal picture, searching for the place on earth to put it for maximal effect. In any case, having both just so that not only the shades of grey but even the horizon lines becomes only one, that's amazing (on all the others pictures too).
There are several layers while looking at your work and that's amazing too. Is the elephant the one who wreak the place? Is it one a the few remaining life standing after whatever (war? bombs?) happened? Or, even sadder, as suggested by the rough and used edges of the board, is it just a remaining image, something from the past that now only live in our imagination, of what used to be there before humans happen?
